Foreclosure intervention (MSU Extension)

MSU Extension and Treasurer's Office - Advises homeowners about alternatives to foreclosure, applying for modifications, repayment plans, forbearance and other home retention programs.

Head Start 0-5

Macomb Community Action - Early Childhood education for ages 0-5. Apply for services.

Hearing and vision screening 

Health Department - Provides hearing and vision screenings, referrals and follow up for children ages 3 to 18.

Home rehab 

Macomb Community Action - Assists eligible homeowners with repairs to achieve safe and sanitary affordable housing as defined by Macomb County Housing Rehabilitation Standards.

Immunizations 

Health Department - Provides vaccines on a walk-in basis or by appointment to protect all persons from vaccine preventable disease.

Public Defender's Office - Provides constitutionally mandated assigned counsel for criminally charged indigent defendants, or individuals who can’t afford legal representation.

Treasurer's Office - Assists residents with saving their homes and businesses from the tax foreclosure process, while collecting taxes on behalf of local communities.

Macomb Community ActionTransports eligible residents to essential medical appointments and other specific locations.

Utility assistance

Macomb Community Action - Assists income-eligible residents facing utility shut-off for electric, natural gas and fuels used to heat a home.

Veteran and/or dependent assistance filing claims to the VA

Veterans Services Assists veterans and/or dependents filing service connected or pension claims to the VA.

Veteran transportation 

Veterans Services - Provides veteran transportation to the Detroit VAMC for morning appointments only.

Vita tax service

Veterans Services - Helps veterans, low-income individuals and individuals with disabilities prepare their taxes at no cost.
