EH services portal
The environmental health services portal offers Macomb residents a password-protected, user-friendly online platform to apply for permits, file a consumer complaint, or request a property transfer evaluation. Our online services are powered by Accela Citizen Access.
Drinking water wells
Proper design, installation, maintenance and monitoring of drinking water wells is critical to the prevention of water-related diseases. Learn about water quality issues and apply for water samples or permits.
Onsite sewage disposal (septic) systems
A significant portion of Macomb County relies on septic systems for sewage disposal. Proper design, installation, and maintenance is critical for the prevention of water pollution and communicable diseases caused by human waste.
Property transfers
Properties that utilize a septic and/or drinking water well need to have an evaluation of the system(s) prior to being transferred.
Food safety program
Services to assure consumers that the food prepared and served in Macomb County's licensed food service establishments is wholesome and safe.
Household hazardous waste collection
Administration of periodic household hazardous waste collection events for county residents.
Bathing beach monitoring
To assure beach goers of a safe recreational experience, water at five county beaches is routinely tested for E. coli from April 1-Sept. 30.
Public swimming pools and spas
Annual inspection of pools/spas located in apartment complexes, motels, hotels, schools, parks, etc. that are licensed by the state of Michigan.
Body art
Body art includes tattoos, piercings, microblading and permanent makeup. Regulations are in place to reduce the risk of transmitting disease and safeguard residents.
