What is friendly caller?
You’ve got a friend in me!
Feeling lonely, isolated or seeking companionship? Who couldn’t use a friend and a friendly voice saying, “Hello?” Program volunteers reach out over the phone to connect with Macomb County seniors interested in a friendly social conversation. It’s a no-pressure, informal, social call. Calls range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes depending on interest and natural flow of conversation on any particular day. Think of it as an old-fashioned front porch visit…over the phone.
The friendly caller program is provided through the generous support of volunteers.
Who is eligible?
This service is available for:
- Macomb County resident
- Age 60 years and older

Call to make a request or sign up online
Call the Office of Senior Services to complete an intake at 586-469-5228.

Look out for a call from one of our volunteers
You will be assigned a volunteer who will call you once a week at a time that works for both of you.
What is the cost?
There is no cost to participate.
