What are caregiver meals?
Caregiver meals are the same hot, ready to eat meal delivered to our Meals on Wheels participants. Meals are delivered Monday - Friday around lunch time.
Funding for this service is limited and ends September 30, 2024.
Who is eligible?
Thanks to special funding from Ageways Nonprofit Senior Services, we are able to provide caregiver meals.
Individuals must be:
- A Macomb County resident
- Age 55 or older
- Living with and caring for a current Meals on Wheels participant
We will provide an additional meal during our Meals on Wheels deliver for the caregiver.
What is the cost?
There is no cost to the caregiver for the meals. Funding provided covers the full cost to provide the meal.

Please call the Office of Senior Services at 586-469-5228 if interested in applying for this program. Our team will complete an application over the phone and provide a start date.

Verify eligibility
A phone assessment will occur within two weeks of meals beginning. This call will verify eligibility and identify other supports and services to help both the caregiver and the individual they care for.
