Adult day activity volunteer
We are seeking volunteers for our GoldenBerry Adult Day Caring Center to assist with activities, lunch service and companionship for our program participants.
Shifts are Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Volunteers are scheduled once per week for a four (4) hour shift.
Who is an adult day activity volunteer?
You! Someone who is patient, compassionate and enjoys playing Bingo (or other games and fun activities). There is no hands on care for participants.
- Available once per week for a four hour shift, Monday - Friday
- Age 16 or older (Under 18 will require parental consent)
- Able to travel to our center: 21885 Dunham Rd, Suite 6, Clinton Township, MI 48036. Enter through door B.
- Clear a background check
- Complete an in-person interview

- Complete new volunteer orientation on program guidelines
- Commit to a personalized schedule
- Have good conversation skills and comfortable speaking with new people

Attend an in-person interview.

In-person training
Attend an in-person training prior to your first shift. You'll learn about:
- Education on dementia and working with individuals with dementia
- Review program standards and policies
- Review volunteer role, responsibilities and boundaries
