Since 2009, more than 85,000 children and adults have attended Breakfast on the Farm, a Michigan State University Extension program designed to highlight local agriculture and connect the public with modern farming practices. This educational event offers people of all ages the chance to learn about environmental stewardship, food safety, and animal care. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions about farming, the agricultural industry, and how food is produced. They also get a firsthand look at life on a working farm—touring facilities, meeting animals, talking with farmers, and enjoying a hearty breakfast made with Michigan-grown and Michigan-made products.
