Macomb Veterans Action Collaborative (MVAC)

Various County organizations meeting to service veterans.

The development of a "no wrong door" system of care where veterans and their dependents receive the care they need and are referred to appropriate resources.

The MVAC was created to support Macomb County's first homeless veterans shelter (Vets Returning Home) as it got up and running. Once the shelter was successfully open, members found there was still a great benefit to meet and collaborate with other agencies to help veterans. The MVAC officially stood up as a collaborative in December 2013.  Since its inception, the committee has identified, tackled and created best practices to help veterans navigate through the VA benefits and services maze.
