The L’Anse Creuse Public Schools is contracted to provide the educational programming for the residents placed in the Juvenile Justice Center. All residents are required to attend school while placed in the facility. The program is accredited by the Correctional Education Association and the teachers are endorsed and hold Special Education/Emotionally Impaired certifications. The teachers all have special training to work with at-risk students.

All students are evaluated and assigned class work that is appropriate to their achievement level. The educational program focuses on developing reading, language, and mathematical skills by pairing students with individualized learning programs which are supported by technology and a high ratio of adult to students.

Upon admission to the Center and enrollment in the school program the student’s home school is contacted. Upon discharge from the facility the school program sends the home school a report detailing dates of attendance, overall performance and grades and credits earned.
