There are two convenient ways to access records online. ​​​Pick from the following options:

Basic document search and copies

The easiest method to perform a FREE search of land records in Macomb County.

Using a credit card, you will be able to purchase a document for $6.

 Launch basic search

 

Search land records (for FREE) by address, legal description or parcel ID #, as well as names.  Request copies and certified copies of documents.

  • 24 hours for $25
    Each document purchased in this search will be $1 
     
  • One week for $75
    Each document purchased in this search will be 75 cents
     
  • One month for $250
    Each document purchased in this search will be 50 cents

Subscribe to Fraud Notify alerts -- Fraud Notify is a simple way to help you prevent from being the victim of property fraud. Register your name and when a document is recorded with your name on it you will be notified via email. This gives you early warning of possible property fraud being committed in your name.

There are public computer terminals available in the Register of Deeds Office that can be used free of charge to view Indexes of our records.

Searches performed by the Register of Deeds staff will cost $5 per search and a $1 copy fee per page.

Copies of documents are not made after 4:30 p.m.; however, searches can still be conducted. Copy orders for more than 15 pages will be available the next business day after 12 p.m.

Large volume searches for banks, mortgage companies and corporations will not be performed by the register of deeds staff. Public computer terminals are located in the register of deeds search area and are available for search use.

 

 

Download the Macomb County Real Estate Records Search Form or in writing to the Register of Deeds and provide the type of document being requested, Grantor/Grantee names, approximate date it was recorded, and either an address, legal description or lot number. Any additional information would be helpful.

Searches performed by the Register of Deeds staff will cost $5 per search and a $1 copy fee per page.

 

 

Mortgage, Discharge or Assignment

You must provide as much of the following information when searching for a MORTGAGE, DISCHARGE, or ASSIGNMENT

  • Mortgagor's name
  • Mortgagee's name
  • Legal description (not just the address)
  • Year of lien if mortgage
  • Year of recording if discharge or assignment
  • Assignment search: must have name of assignor, assignee, liber and page of mortgage.
  • Discharge search: must have liber and page of mortgage.
  • Stamped self-addressed stamped return envelope.
  • A check for $5 per search (and a $1 copy fee per page).

Death certificate, deed or land contract

You must provide as much of the following information when searching for a DEATH CERTIFICATE, DEED OR LAND CONTRACT:

  • Name of grantor or grantee
  • Legal description (not just the address)
  • Approximate year of recording
  • Stamped self-addressed stamped return envelope.
  • A check for $5 per search (and a $1 copy fee per page).
