Request a court date
You have ten days to contact the Court to request a date if you wish to contest your ticket. Once a hearing is scheduled, a postcard will be sent to the address provided on the ticket. If there is a change of address from the ticket, you must provide the new address to the court. A text message reminder for the hearing will also be sent prior to the court date.
Court dates are set according to the Court and officer schedules. Once the Court date is set, that day and time is reserved for you. Court dates will not be rescheduled unless you have a previously scheduled conflict (vacation, final exams, etc.) that occurs at the time of your court date. Please provide that information as soon as possible.
If you are assessed a fine, payment is expected in full immediately following the hearing. Cash, money orders and debit/credit are accepted, however cards require a 3.5% service fee.
If ten days have passed, you must contact the Court to receive instructions on how to proceed. (If the tenth day falls on a weekend or holiday, you have until the next business day to respond)
