Mount Clemens, MI - Today a Warren resident was arraigned in connection with a car crash that killed a Detroit man and injured four others.
It is alleged that on Saturday, March 2, 2024, Xavier Fuggerson, age 33, was intoxicated and racing a Chevrolet Tahoe at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his Chevrolet Impala and hit the Tahoe on Groesbeck near Stephens in Warren. The Tahoe rolled over and the driver, Dennis Smith, died and four others were injured.
Xavier Fuggerson is charged with the following:

Count One: Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death (15 year felony)

Fuggerson is also being charged as a habitual third offender. He was arraigned in 37th Warren District Court where District Court Judge Suzanne Faunce set bond at $1 million cash/surety. If released he must wear an alcohol and steel GPS tether, have no contact with any witnesses and have no alcohol or drugs. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 9:00am.
