Mount Clemens, Michigan - A 17-year-old juvenile, 18-year-old Danasia Kennedy-Johnson, and 18-year-old Xavier Tayvione-Demarr Jones were arraigned on multiple counts in connection with a school fight at a Warren high school.
It is alleged that on Monday, April 22, 2024, Kennedy-Johnson and Jones were on school grounds at Lincoln High School with the intentions of fighting a student on a bus. Two Warren Police Officers attempted to arrest Jones when he resisted officers causing them all to fall to the ground. The officers were struggling to bring Jones under control when the 17-year-old juvenile and Kennedy-Johnson assaulted the officer. The officer was admitted to the hospital in serious condition.
Danasia Kennedy-Johnson of Eastpointe was charged with Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder (ten year felony), Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer Causing Injury (four year felony), Malicious Destruction of Property $200 or More But Less Than $1,000 (one year misdemeanor) and Disorderly Person (90 day misdemeanor). Today, she was arraigned in 37th Warren District Court where District Court Chief Judge John Chmura set bond at $200,000 cash/surety. If released the defendant must wear a GPS tether, and have no contact with any co-defendants, witnesses or Lincoln High School.
Xavier Tayvione-Demarr Jones of Warren was charged with three counts of Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer (two year felonies), and Disorderly Person (90 day misdemeanor). Today, he was arraigned in 37th Warren District Court where District Court Chief Judge John Chmura set bond at $75,000 cash/surety. If released the defendant must wear a GPS tether, and have no contact with any co-defendants, witnesses or Lincoln High School.
The 17-year-old juvenile of Eastpoine was charged with Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer Causing Injury (four year felony), two counts of Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer (two year felony), Malicious Destruction of Property $200 or More But Less Than $1,000 (one year misdemeanor) and Disturbing the Peace (90 day misdemeanor). Yesterday, a preliminary hearing was conducted in the Macomb County Juvenile Court where Chief Juvenile Referee Linda Harrison granted the Macomb County Prosecutor’s request to deny bond and hold the juvenile in the Juvenile Justice Center.
"These teens have not only endangered the life of a dedicated officer who risks everything to safeguard our communities but have also shown a blatant disregard for the law. Such unacceptable behavior will be met with the full force of justice, as we ensure that those responsible are held accountable,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
