Mount Clemens Man Stabs Woman During Armed Robbery

A 37-year-old Mount Clemens man was arraigned in connection with an armed robbery and assault.

Mount Clemens, MI -  A 37-year-old Mount Clemens man was arraigned today in connection with an armed robbery and assault.

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, Jovaughn Harrington ran into an acquaintance at a gas station. Harrington suggested the two meet later that day.  When they met it is alleged that Harrington tried to rob the woman and when she resisted, Harrington stabbed her multiple times.  The victim is in stable condition.

Harrington was charged with Assault with Intent to Murder (life felony), Armed Robbery (life felony).  He is also being charged as a habitual fourth offender.

Harrington was arraigned in Clinton Twp. District Court where Magistrate Ryan Zemke set bond at $150,000 cash/surety, no 10%.  If released, the defendant must wear a steel cuff tether, have no contact with the victim, no possession of weapons or ammunition and must have alcohol and drug testing.  A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 11, 2024 at 8:30am via Zoom by District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido.
