Man Sentenced for Two Eastpointe Murders

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Dennis Evans was sentenced after being found guilty on all counts for killing two of his neighbors.

Mount Clemens, MI - On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Dennis Evans was sentenced after being found guilty on all counts for killing two of his neighbors.

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, Dennis Evans shot his neighbors Dorian Mitchell and Christie Davis outside of their apartment complex in Eastpointe. Both victims died from their injuries. After a search of Evans’ apartment police found a mixture containing heroin and fentanyl. Evans also has two previous convictions for Second Degree Murder.

Evans was sentenced to the following by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Edward Servitto:

Count 1: First Degree Premeditated Murder - Life without the possibility of parole.

Count 2: Felony Firearm 2nd Offense - Five consecutive years and preceding count one.

Count 3: First Degree Premeditated Murder - Life without the possibility of parole.

Count 4: Felony Firearm 2nd Offense - Five years consecutive and preceding count one and three, concurrent with count two.

Count 5: Felon in Possession of a Firearm - 36-60 months.

Count 6: Felony Firearm 2nd Offense - Five years consecutive and preceding count one, three and five, concurrent with count two and four.

Count 7: Delivery/Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 50 to 449 grams - 108-240 months.

“Justice has been served, but it's important to remember the lives lost and the pain inflicted. This sentence reflects the severity of the crimes committed and ensures that the perpetrator will never pose a threat to society again. I hope this sentence brings some measure of peace to those affected by this senseless tragedy,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
