Man Guilty as Charged for Eastpointe Murders

On Friday, February 23, 2024, a Macomb County jury convicted 62-year-old Dennis Evans on all charges.

Mount Clemens, MI - On Friday, February 23, 2024, a Macomb County jury convicted 62-year-old Dennis Evans on all charges after a three-day jury trial by Assistant Prosecutors Danielle Strace and Jurij Fedorak.

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, Dennis Evans shot his neighbors Dorian Mitchell and Christie Davis outside of their apartment complex in Eastpointe. Both victims died from their injuries. After a search of Evans’ apartment police found a mixture containing heroin and fentanyl. Evans fled to Texas where he was arrested. Evans also has two previous convictions for Second Degree Murder.

Evans was charged and found guilty of the following:

Count 1: First Degree Premeditated Murder (life without parole)
Count 2: Felony Firearm 2nd Offense (five year mandatory felony)
Count 3: First Degree Premeditated Murder (life without parole)
Count 4: Felony Firearm 2nd Offense (five year mandatory felony)
Count 5: Felon in Possession of a Firearm (five year felony)
Count 6: Felony Firearm 2nd Offense (five year mandatory felony)
Count 7: Delivery/Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 50 to 449 grams (20 year felony)

A Sentencing Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:30am by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Edward Servitto.
