Detroit Man Sentenced for Multiple Home Invasions

Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Edward Servitto sentenced James Long, Jr. for his guilty plea on all charges in three Home Invasions.

Mount Clemens, MI - On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Edward Servitto sentenced James Long, Jr. to 86 months to 15 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections for his guilty plea on all charges in three Home Invasions.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023 Antonio Barry and James Long, Jr. broke into a home in the area of Mound Rd. and Toepfer Rd. and stole several items. The two men allegedly broke into another home on Thursday, July 20, 2023 and took more belongings, then the pair broke into a home in the area of 13 Mile Rd. and Schoenherr Rd. on Monday, July 24, 2023 and snatched items from that house.  

Long pled guilty as charged on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 to three counts of Second Degree Home Invasion.  Antonio Barry’s case is still ongoing.

"It is my duty to ensure that justice is served and that those who violate the sanctity of our homes face the consequences of their actions. This sentencing underscores the severity of home invasions and reaffirms our commitment to protecting our communities,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
