Mount Clemens, Michigan - Today, a 31-year-old Commerce, MI man was arraigned in connection with an explosion of a building in Clinton Township.
It is alleged that on Monday, March 4, 2024, a building owned and operated by Noor Noel Kestou, exploded due to thousands of cans of Nitrous oxide and butane being stored in the building. The explosion propelled numerous canisters through the area. One of the Nitrous oxide canisters struck a 19-year-old man in the head resulting in his death.
Noor Kestou was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter (15 year felony). He was arraigned in 41B District Court by Magistrate Ryan Zemke where bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety only. If released, Kestou must wear a GPS tether, surrender his passport, not leave the state and have no weapons. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 8:30am by Clinton Township District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido.
"Our hearts ache for the family and loved ones of the young man whose life was tragically cut short by this devastating explosion. We are steadfast in our commitment to pursuing justice and holding the individual accountable for their actions,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
