Valentine’s Day is approaching and this year, we want to show some love to our Macomb County businesses. So whether you plan to dine out, purchase some chocolates or buy a gift or experience the next few days, make sure you’re keeping it local. Here’s why that matters:
- Small businesses reinvest. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, when you spend $100 at a small business, $48 stays in the community. Spend the same $100 at a big-box store or national retailer and only $14 stays.
- Small businesses offer one-of-a-kind products and services and provide personalized customer service.
- Small businesses make our community vibrant and unique.
There are countless other reasons why shopping small is important, but the point of this piece is to help you find Macomb County restaurants and retailers where you can treat yourself or someone else this holiday. So let’s get to it!
