Corporation Counsel

The Office of Macomb County Corporation Counsel provides legal advice and support to elected officials, appointed officers, department heads, division heads and employees of Macomb County and serves as the general counsel for all items and activities requiring legal services and support. Corporation Counsel also manages matters concerning Risk and Insurance for the County.

Corporation Counsel is charged with the responsibility to represent Macomb County, the executive, the Macomb County Commission, the five countywide elected officials, the department heads and agencies of the County in all civil legal matters affecting the County. This office provides legal advice to all County officials, departments, agencies and prepares, reviews and approves County contracts and other documents affecting the County.
