Economic development

Facilitation

A facilitator is someone who helps a group of people understand common objectives and assists in planning and achieving objectives without taking a position in the discussion. Facilitators can help those groups come to a consensus on their best ideas.

Farm and farmers markets

MSU Extension assists farms and farmers markets’ efforts by bringing together partners, identifying successful market models, establishing rules and regulations, identifying and training managers and helping recruit vendors.

Fiscal management

MSU Extension works to provide training to local elected leaders in Michigan’s 1,858 townships, villages, cities and counties; 608 school districts, 456 special purpose authorities, 14 multi-county regions, and 12 federally recognized tribal nations.
