Macomb County is committed to ensuring that its programs, services and activities are accessible to individuals with disabilities. In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the County is working to ensure effective communication and equal access to digital content for all users.
Web accessibility standard
Macomb County is actively working to ensure that MacombGov.org conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the accessibility standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice for state and local government websites and mobile applications.
Ongoing accessibility efforts
The County is in the process of reviewing and improving its website and digital content to identify and address accessibility barriers. These efforts include:
- Evaluating web pages, documents and online services for accessibility
- Improving navigation, readability and usability for assistive technology users
- Training staff responsible for posting and maintaining web content
- Integrating accessibility considerations into website updates and new content
