Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Macomb

MSHDA Emergency Solutions Grant opportunity

The Macomb County Department of Health and Community Services is now accepting applications for funding through the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program, administered by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). MSHDA receives ESG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and distributes it annually to Continuums of Care (CoCs) and Local Planning Bodies (LPBs) throughout Michigan.

As the ESG fiduciary for the Macomb County CoC, the Department of Health and Community Services aims to utilize these funds to support residents who are currently experiencing homelessness or are at imminent risk of becoming homeless. ESG funds may be used for street outreach, emergency shelter operations and services, homelessness prevention, and rapid rehousing efforts.

The local funding competition will close on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Eligible applicants include local units of government and nonprofit organizations that provide year-round services to Macomb County residents. The grant term will run from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026.

For additional information or questions, please contact the Macomb County Department of Health and Community Services at dohcs@macombgov.org or call 586-469-7190.
