Support small businesses — even during construction

Is the construction dragging you down? Don’t want to leave home and sit through traffic? Well, we're all in the same boat.

Michigan is infamous for the summertime construction and we have our fair share of it in Macomb County. The heavy traffic and extra few minutes it takes to get to work can be annoying, but we aren’t the only ones this construction impacts. Local small businesses take a major hit. They rely on the steady traffic and easy access to keep their customers coming in. Supporting those small businesses that might take a little longer to get to during the construction should be on your must do list! After all, small businesses help our communities thrive.

Here are a few places to support a little extra through the construction ...

Romeo:

  • Enjoy some delicious breakfast at Four Corners Diner. Then make sure to stop by Honey Pie Kids for some fun children's boutique shopping. Lastly, take a walk around RJD Gallery and experience the beautiful artistry.

St. Clair Shores:

  • To get you started, stop by New Order Coffee and make your cup of coffee exactly how you like it. Next stop, The Junk Drawer Mercantile. This is the perfect place to grab some handmade goods for your loved ones. To end a perfect day in St. Clair Shores, you have to grab a delicious scoop at Mastro's Ice Cream.

New Baltimore:

Mt. Clemens:

  • Mae’s is the perfect stop for some breakfast before spending a beautiful day in downtown Mount Clemens. You also can’t miss out on the unique experience of The Bohemian Goat. Whether you want to shop around, attend a class, or get a reading, it is sure to be one of your favorite places. The day wouldn’t be complete without popping into Cravin’ Raven for a gluten-free pastry and some diverse shopping.

Supporting these small businesses through the construction season allows them to keep their doors open for when it's all over. So make a day out of it! Grab some friends and head to these small businesses to experience the phenomenal customer service they have to offer. Hear their stories and indulge in their fantastic products, as you make great memories with friends.

Every place you visit and every purchase you make helps them reach their goals and fulfill their dreams. You aren’t just supporting a small business, you’re supporting a family.

Road construction may be inconvenient and tricky, but with a little patience and extra support we can get through it together.
