KRUU’s U.S. Success Story Begins in Macomb County

KRUU was founded in 2016 with a simple yet powerful idea: to capture magical moments and preserve them for a lifetime. What began as a creative startup has steadily grown into an international brand known for high-quality, user‑friendly photo booth experiences.

In 2024, KRUU officially entered the U.S. market and opened their brand‑new office right here in Macomb County. That same year, they launched the U.S. version of their sleek MK4 photo booth. With its modern design, built‑in professional flash, and intuitive interface, the MK4 has quickly become a standout product.

The company’s rapid success in the U.S. has been remarkable. After just two years, KRUU has outgrown its 13,000‑square‑foot facility in Warren and is now expanding into a 40,000‑square‑foot space in Shelby Township, choosing to stay and grow in Macomb County. From this larger facility, they ship photo booths to customers across the country. These units are not for sale, but rented for special events, giving customers an affordable, high‑impact way to enhance their celebrations.

KRUU now employs 20 full‑time staff members and is continuing to hire as demand grows. To support that expansion, we were able to connect them with Michigan Works! Enabling them to leverage programs like On‑the‑Job Training for new hires and Going PRO to help upskill their existing workforce. These partnerships ensure KRUU can continue scaling while investing in the talent that keeps their operations strong.

Their story is a great example of an international company finding success in Macomb County and choosing to deepen their roots here. Bringing jobs, innovation, and entrepreneurial energy to our community.
