UM Students Present Local Urban Planning Projects
On Wednesday April 20 2011 at 11:00 a.m. some of the brightest young planning minds in the nation will be presenting their analysis and findings for their Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning Practicum Projects.
Over the past four months MCPED and U of M have been working in partnership on a number of community, economic, and physical development initiatives throughout the County. During this time students, instructors, and key community stakeholders have been collecting information, developing alternative solutions, and solidifying objectives to assist the County and its local units of government with a number of pressing initiatives.
The Students have been working on the following projects:
Macomb County Site Plan Assistance Program
Shelby Township Not-So-Big House
Lake St Clair Strategic Waterfront Development Plan
Macomb County Downtown Assistance Program
SMART Transit Friendly Environments
Macomb County Complete Streets
We anticipate a great afternoon of discussions, presentations, networking, and lunch. Those attending should send an email to JohnPaul.Rea@macombgov.org by Monday April 18. If you have any questions feel free to contact JohnPaul at (586) 469-6464. Any interested stakeholders are also invited.
This presentation should provide your community with some cutting edge economic and physical development opportunities.
