January was bittersweet as we bid farewell to several staff members who officially retired from our department:

Please join us in welcoming Caitlin Gerds-Habermas, Account Clerk I. Caitlin supports our entire staff by greeting visitors, answering phones and lending her expertise to other department initiatives. She previously worked at the Southfield 46th District Court. Caitlin has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan.

Vicky Rad is now Interim Deputy Director. Vicky joined the department in 2012 after successful stints with the Detroit Regional Chamber and the Macomb Regional Procurement Technical Assistance Center. Aside from overseeing efforts to support and grow businesses within the county, Vicky also led our project to market Michigan’s defense industry as the “Arsenal of Innovation” and has been instrumental in the formation of the Michigan Automated Systems Collaborative (MASC). Vicky has a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems from Baker College and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University.
