Macomb County celebrates its 200th birthday this year! To honor just some of the many things that make Macomb County what it is today, we’ll celebrate a different theme each month of 2018. In January, we explore the histories of our communities.
Visit Macomb200.org this month to learn about the origin of our county’s name, former names of our communities, the 1782 Moravian settlement site in Clinton Township, the lost village of Belvidere, the five name changes of Eastpointe, and border changes that have occurred in the past 30 years. Also check out our Facebook page throughout the month to learn interesting historical facts.
