Harrison Township, MI – Today, July 30, 2026, at approximately 1:10PM, Macomb County Sheriff's Office received notification of a boat explosion and fire at the gas pumps at Tow Boat USA, on South River Road, in Harrison Township.
Macomb County Sheriff's Office deputies, along with multiple agencies providing mutual aid, responded immediately to the scene.
Several individuals sustained injuries; at least three were transported to local hospitals for additional medical treatment.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation. At this time, there is no indication that foul play was involved.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office extends its gratitude to the dock hands and Tow Boat USA employees who acted quickly to assist passengers off the vessel and away from the scene.
