Deputies arrest fleeing suspect following domestic violent incident

Mount Clemens, MI. – On 10/15/2023, at 3:36AM, Macomb County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies were dispatched to a Macomb Township residence for an alleged Domestic Violence incident. The suspect, a 33-year-old male from Macomb Township, fled the scene.
Deputies found the victim at the residence, visibly injured, with a severe lip laceration, ligature marks to the neck, and bruising to the head. The victim was also in and out of consciousness. The victim was transported to an area hospital. The victim remains in critical, but stable, condition.
MCSO Deputies and Detectives conducted an investigation, and upon locating the suspect, took him into custody without incident. He was lodged and remains in the Macomb County Jail.
He is charged with:
• Assault with intent to maim,
• Assault with intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder or by strangulation,
• Domestic Violence – Aggravated.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned this afternoon, October 17, 2023, at 41-A Shelby Township District Court.
