Mount Clemens, MI - A 42-year-old Warren man has been arraigned for owing more than $10,000 in back child support.

On Wednesday, May 23, 2012, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Kathryn Viviano ordered Gregory Harp II to pay child support for a minor child. On Friday, September 8, 2023, the State of Michigan initiated an investigation on Harp for failing to pay child support. Macomb County Friend of the Court has issued 8 show cause hearings and 2 bench warrants to try to get Harp to comply with his ordered child support.  The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office took over the case and Harp has refused to work with our office to resolve his back child support. As a result, Harp has been charged with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four year felony.

Gregory Harp II was arraigned on Monday, June 17, 2024 in 41B District Court where Magistrate Ryan Zemke set bond at $2,559. Harp still owes over $10,000 in child support.  A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 8:30am by Clinton Township District Court Judge Jacob Femminineo, Jr.

“It is the responsibility of both parents to take care of a child.  When a parent does not pay child support, it is only hurting the child," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the people.  We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
