Mount Clemens, MI - Donta Sanders, age 45, has been arraigned for failing to pay child support on his minor child.

On Monday, January 6, 2020, Sanders was ordered by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Rachel Rancilio to pay $521 per month in child support for his minor child.  His last payment was in October 2021 and he allegedly owes more than $17,000 in back child support.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Sanders with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four year felony, after the Macomb County Friend of the Court exhausted their efforts to enforce the court order of paying child support. Sanders has had one show cause hearing and one bench warrant issued.

Donta Sanders was arraigned on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in 41B District Court by Magistrate Ryan Zemke who set bond at $4,436.00.  A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 26, 2024, 2024 at 8:30 am by District Court Judge Jacob Femminineo, Jr.

“Ensuring the well-being of our children is a fundamental responsibility, and failing to meet this obligation for nearly three years is unacceptable. We are committed to holding individuals accountable when they neglect their duty to support their children, as the law requires. This serves as a reminder that we will pursue justice for those who are owed the support they deserve," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the People.  We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
