Mount Clemens, MI - Nino Borelli, age 45, has been arraigned on charges of failing to pay child support for his two minor children.

On Friday, September 24, 2010,  Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Mark Switalski ordered Borelli to pay $300.00 per month in child support for his minor child. Borelli has had 11 show cause hearings and eight bench warrants issued in this case. Borelli allegedly owes $42,963.63 in overdue child support for this child.

On Friday, April 6, 2018, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Tracey Yokich ordered Borelli to pay $284.00 a month in child support for another minor child.  In this case, Borelli has had four show cause hearings and two bench warrants.  Borelli allegedly owes $14,821.72 in overdue child support for this child.

After exhausting all enforcement efforts, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged Borelli with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four-year felony in each case. On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Borelli was arraigned in the 41B District Court in Clinton Township by Magistrate Ryan Zemke, who set bond at $10,740.00 for the 2010 case and $3,705.00 for the 2018 case. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for December 2, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., before District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido.

"Our office is committed to ensuring that children receive the financial support they deserve. We take steps to work collaboratively with the noncustodial parent to establish payment plans and provide resources to help them meet their obligations. However, if they choose not to cooperate despite our efforts, we will pursue legal action to hold them accountable and protect the well-being of their children," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Family Division handles felony nonsupport cases when a noncustodial parent owes over $5,000 in child support. To qualify for review, the case must involve an arrearage of $5,000 or more, failure to pay for three consecutive months, and the ability of the noncustodial parent to pay.
