Mount Clemens, MI -  A 37-year-old man has been arraigned for failing to pay child support for his minor children.  After a thorough investigation, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office determined that he has the ability to pay but chose not to cooperate with our office on payment options.

On Thursday, April 30, 2009, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Tracey Yokich ordered Charles Lowe to pay child support for his minor children. After failing to comply with the court’s order and accruing over $21,000 in child support arrearages, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged Lowe with Failure to Pay Child Support, a four-year felony.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Lowe was arraigned in the 41B District Court in Clinton Township before Magistrate Ryan Zemke, who set the bond at $5,257. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 8:30 am in front of District Court Judge Jacob Femminineo, Jr.

"This father’s failure to provide the financial support owed to his child is not only a violation of the law but a failure to honor the most important duty a parent has. We are committed to ensuring that children receive the resources they need to thrive, and will continue to pursue justice in cases of non-support," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Family Division of the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office oversees felony nonsupport cases where arrears exceed $5,000, payments have not been made for three consecutive months, and there is evidence the noncustodial parent has the financial means to pay. The division’s primary goal is to secure financial support for children while ensuring justice is served.
