Son, Father and Grandmother Arraigned in Connection with an Eastpointe Drive By Shooting
Mount Clemens, MI - Three family members have been charged and arraigned in connection with a drive by shooting in Eastpointe.
It is alleged that on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Tyler Fistler and his father Derek Morris carried out their previous online threats by shooting at an Eastpointe residence from a vehicle. No one was injured in the shooting. When officers arrived at Fistler's Casco residence, Fistler was holding a firearm as he and Derek Morris entered the home and refused to come out. St. Clair County SWAT attempted to call the men out, but they did not comply. SWAT then deployed gas cartridges into the home, prompting Fistler and Morris to exit. They were arrested. Further investigation led to the discovery of the vehicle involved in the drive-by shooting at Morris's mother's residence. Later that day, during a jail call, Derek Morris asked his mother, Jaraldine Morris, to dispose of evidence at her house, and she agreed.
"Thank you to the Eastpointe Police Department, and the St. Clair County SWAT team for all their hard work in investigating and taking this family into custody. This shooting endangered the lives of both adults and children in our community, and we will see that these actions have serious consequences.
