Roseville Man Arraigned for Alleged Assault from Bar Fight

A 48-year-old man was arraigned in connection with a bar fight that severely injured a man.

Roseville Man Arraigned for Alleged Assault from Bar Fight

Mount Clemens, MI - A 48-year-old man was arraigned in connection with a bar fight that severely injured a man.

It is alleged that on Saturday, August 17, 2024, Joel Anthony Martinez, was bothering patrons of Te Roma Bar in Center Line. Martinez allegedly punched a 50-year-old man, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete. The victim remains in the hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. He also punched a second man.  

Martinez was charged with Aggravated Assault, a one year misdemeanor, Assault and Battery, a 93-day misdemeanor, and Disturbing the Peace, a 90-day misdemeanor.

Joel Anthony Martinez was arraigned in 37th Centerline District Court where visiting Judge Jarboe set bond at $5,000 cash/surety.  Upon release Martinez is to have no contact with the victim, witnesses or Te Roma Bar and is to wear an alcohol tether.  No further court date has been scheduled at this time.

“The defendant's actions during this alleged bar fight were reckless and dangerous, leaving the victim with significant harm. We are committed to holding the defendant accountable for this alleged violent behavior and ensuring justice is served for the victim,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
