Mount Clemens, MI -  A 35-year-old man has been arraigned for failing to pay child support for his minor child. After a thorough investigation, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office determined that he has the ability to pay but chose not to cooperate with our office on payment options.

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Tracey Yokich ordered Anthony Leach to pay child support for his minor child. After failing to comply with the court’s order and accruing over $20,000 in child support arrearages, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged Leach with Failure to Pay Child Support, a four-year felony.

On Monday, February 24, 2025, Leach was arraigned in the 41B District Court in Clinton Township before Magistrate Ryan Zemke, who set the bond at $4,639. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2025, at 8:30 am in front of District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido.

"Parents have a legal and moral obligation to support their children. This defendant’s failure to pay child support not only violates the law but also denies his child the resources they need to thrive. Our office is committed to holding individuals accountable when they neglect their responsibilities,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Family Division of the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office oversees felony nonsupport cases where arrears exceed $5,000, payments have not been made for three consecutive months, and there is evidence the noncustodial parent has the financial means to pay. The division’s primary goal is to secure financial support for children while ensuring justice is served.
