Options, Services, and Hope for Crime Survivors: A Public Event Exploring Support Systems and Justice

Mount Clemens, Michigan - The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Victim Rights Unit is pleased to present "Options, Services, and Hope for Crime Survivors.” This event is being held to provide crucial support and resources to crime survivors within our community.  We aim to empower survivors by explaining the criminal justice system, and various support services available to them. The event will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 11am to 2pm at the Velocity Center, located at 6633 18 Mile Road in Sterling Heights, MI 48314.

"Options, Services, and Hope for Crime Survivors” will serve as a beacon of hope for individuals impacted by crime. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge on the legal system, how to access resources, and find support during their journey towards healing. This is also an opportunity for loved ones to gain valuable information on how to be prepared if someone confides in them about victimization.

"We recognize the challenges faced by crime survivors and the importance of providing them with comprehensive support," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. "Through this event, we aim to shed light on the court system, services available and instill hope in those who have been affected by crime."

One of the highlights of the event will be informative sessions led by representatives from the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, including a Crime Victim Advocate and an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Additionally, resources including Turning Point and CareHouse, will be present to provide valuable insights into navigating the aftermath of crime. Representatives from the Macomb County Sheriff's Office and members of the Macomb County judiciary will also be in attendance to offer their support and guidance.

The event will feature discussions on various topics, such as victims' rights, available support services, and strategies for coping and healing. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with professionals in the field, ask questions, and network with fellow survivors.

Lunch will be provided, offering a chance for individuals to connect in a supportive and nurturing environment.  This is a free event and no registration is required.
