Washington Township man bound over to circuit court on multiple counts of aggravated possession of child porn, using a computer to commit a crime

Press Release

Mount Clemens, MI - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Frederik Stolaj, a 21-year-old Washington Township man, waived his Preliminary Exam and was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court on multiple counts of Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, a Probable Cause Conference was held in the 42-1 District Court in Shelby Township, MI before Judge Stephen Sierawski.  At that hearing, Stolaj waived his right to a Preliminary Exam and was bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court. He will be arraigned on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 1:30 pm before Judge Julie Gatti.

Stolaj is facing the following charges:

Counts 1-3 – Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material – each a 10-year felony

Counts 4-6 – Using a Computer to Commit a Crime – each a 10-year felony

These are the maximum charges available under the law based on the evidence to date.

It is alleged that when Troy Police were investigating the March 20, 2025 shooting in the Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital’s parking structure, they questioned friends or acquaintances of the alleged shooter. Stolaj was one of those people. The police obtained a search warrant for the phone of Stolaj. An examination of his cellphone revealed it contained child sexually abusive materials.

Stolaj is free on a $100,000 cash bond. He must wear a GPS tether and can have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Child exploitation is among the most serious crimes we prosecute, and our office will continue to pursue justice to protect children and safeguard our community,” said Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the People. We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
