Warren man facing second-degree murder charge referred for mental health evaluation

Mt. Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 20-year-old Kayvon Briscoe-Hall will receive a mental health evaluation to determine if he is competent to stand trial. Briscoe-Hall is charged with Second-Degree Murder for allegedly shooting his housemate on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025.

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, a Probable Cause Conference was held for Briscoe-Hall before Judge Suzanne Faunce at the 37th District Court in Warren, MI. Briscoe-Hall’s defense counsel requested an evaluation for Competency and Culpability. The court granted the request and set a date of Dec. 2, 2025 to review the evaluation results and status of the case. 

Briscoe-Hall is held without bond at the Macomb County Jail. He is facing the following charges:

  • Homicide – Murder – Second-Degree, a life or any term of years felony
  • Weapons - Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony, consecutive to main charge

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated, “In our justice system, it is essential to determine a defendant’s competency before proceeding to trial. We will await the results of that evaluation. My office remains firmly committed to pursuing justice.”
