Two men bound over on First-Degree Home Invasion, other felonies

Mount Clemens, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced 37-year-old Jesus Garcia, Jr. and 27-year-old Craig Turner, both of Pontiac, were bound over on felony charges related to a residential break-in in Shelby Township, Michigan that occurred in December 2025. 

It is alleged that on December 10, 2025, Garcia and Turner broke into a residence and physically assaulted a man. It is further alleged that Garcia and Turner stole televisions, electronics, Pokémon/Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and other miscellaneous items. 

On Thursday, August 27, 2026, a Preliminary Exam for Garcia and Turner was held before Judge Stephen Sierawski in the 41A District Court in Shelby Township. At the conclusion of the Exam, Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Lisa Lozen and Jack Jontz argued that, based upon the evidence presented, a charge of Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder should be added against both men. Judge Sierawski agreed and added the count. 

Garcia and Turner are charged with the following:

• Home Invasion – First-Degree, a 20-year felony
• Unlawful Imprisonment, a 15-year felony
• Robbery – Unarmed, a 15-year felony
• Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder, a 10-year felony
• Larceny - $1,000 or More but Less Than $20,000, a 5-year felony

Garcia also has a Habitual Offender – Fourth Offense Notice, an aggravating sentencing factor which may result in a life sentence if convicted of a count with a penalty of 5 years or more.

“My priority is protecting victims and holding accountable those who threaten the safety of others. Violence will not be tolerated in our communities, and I will continue to seek justice for victims,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

Garcia and Turner are scheduled to be arraigned before Judge Julie Gatti in the Macomb County Circuit Court on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
