Mount Clemens, MI - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced Andrew Day, a 30-year-old Trenton man, was arraigned on charges related to his alleged communication and attempt to meet who he believed to be a 15-year-old girl.
It is alleged that on Monday, July 14, 2025, Day messaged an undercover profile identifying as a 15-year-old girl on Reddit. He allegedly sent her explicit photos of himself and spoke about explicit activities. It is alleged that on Monday, August 11, 2025, Day planned to meet the 15-year-old for sexual relations but was arrested when he arrived at the meeting site.
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Day was arraigned in the 37th District Court in Warren, MI before Judge Suzanne Faunce the following charges:
- Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes, a 4-year felony, and
- Computers – Using to Commit a Crime, a 1-year misdemeanor
These are the maximum charges available under the law based upon the evidence presented to date.
Judge Faunce set a $100,000 cash/surety bond. If Day is released, he must wear a GPS tether and comply with the following conditions: he can have no contact with minors, no use of the internet, not to be within 1,000 feet of a school, playground, or place where children congregate, cannot leave the State of Michigan, no drugs or alcohol and must submit to random testing.
A Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 8:45 am and a Preliminary Exam is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025, both before Judge Michael Chupa at the 37th District Court in Warren, MI.
“Our children deserve to grow up safe, free from the threat of predators. My office will use every tool under the law to protect them and hold offenders fully accountable,” said Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
