Mt. Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 31-year-old Stephanie Holt was arraigned on charges related a woman found deceased at the foot of a driveway in St. Clair Shores, MI.
On Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, St. Clair Shores Police were called to a location where a body was laying at the end of a driveway. The deceased had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. It is alleged that Holt struck the victim while backing out of her driveway. The victim was 76-year-old Mary Hulswit, a St. Clair Shores resident.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, Holt was arraigned before Magistrate Genevieve L. Taylor in the 40th District Court in St. Clair Shores, MI on the following charges: Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident – When at Fault – Resulting in Death, a 15-year felony and Felony – Commission with Motor Vehicle.
Magistrate Taylor set Holt’s bond at $100,000 cash/surety/10%. If she is released on bond, she must wear a GPS tether, cannot return to the scene of the incident, and can have no contact with the victim’s family.
Holt is scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference before Judge Mark A. Fratarcangeli, at the 40th District Court in St. Clair Shores, MI on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at 9 a.m., and a Preliminary Exam on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated, “Fleeing from an accident, particularly one that results in serious injury or death, is illegal. When an accident occurs, the law requires that individuals stop, and immediately contact emergency services.”
