Mount Clemens, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Michael Sikorski, 29, of St. Clair Shores, pleaded no contest to the charged offense of Third-Degree Animal Torture in connection with the alleged abuse of his dog.
On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, during a Pre-Trial Conference, Sikorski entered a no contest plea before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Anthony R. Servitto. Third-Degree Animal Torture is a felony offense punishable by up to four years in prison. Sikorski is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Servitto on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, Sikorski assaulted his dog, Steel. He kicked the dog in the face. Sikorski then lifted Steel by his leash behind his back, strangling him by his collar, before swinging the dog over his head and slamming him into the ground. Steel yelped in pain but did not suffer permanent injuries.
“Those who choose to harm animals will be held accountable. Our pets rely on us for their safety and care, and when that trust is violated through acts of cruelty, it is not only unacceptable, it is against the law. My office will continue to stand up for those who cannot speak for themselves and ensure that individuals who commit acts of animal abuse face the consequences under Michigan law,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
