Shelby Township man arraigned on charges of second-degree murder, tampering with evidence

Mount Clemens, MI - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Terrance Lamar Bowie, II, a 29-year-old Shelby Township man, was arraigned on charges of Second-Degree Murder and Tampering with Evidence related to the death of a woman in Shelby Township.

It is alleged that on Saturday, July 19, 2025, police responded to a Shelby Township apartment after a 911 call. Bowie let the police into the apartment. After police investigation, the body of Brittany Harris-Beauchamp, a 27-year-old Madison Heights woman, was found. It appeared her body had been moved within the room. 

On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Bowie was arraigned in the 41A District Court in Shelby Township before Judge Stephen S. Sierawski on the following charges: 

  • Homicide – Second Degree, a life or any term of years felony
  • Tampering with Evidence – a 10-year felony

These are the maximum charges available under the law based on the evidence to date. 

Judge Sierawski set bond at 2 million dollars, cash/surety.  If Bowie is released, he must wear a GPS tether. A Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 9 am. A Preliminary Exam is set for Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 1 pm. Both hearings will take place at the 41A District Court in Shelby Township.
