Mount Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Deyarin Jamire Marsh, a 17-year-old juvenile from Detroit, was arraigned as an adult on charges related to a car crash which resulted in the death of 48-year-old Remions Washington, also of Detroit.
It is alleged that on Thursday, June 18, 2026, Warren Police officers used lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop on a 2014 Dodge Ram with defective equipment. The Ram fled, disobeying multiple traffic control devices while officers pursued the vehicle. While traveling south on Schoenherr, the Ram allegedly crashed into a vehicle driven by Washington. The occupants of the Ram fled and ran. Officers quickly apprehended four individuals. A fifth was located and arrested on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Washington was transported to St. John - Henry Ford Hospital on Moross in Detroit where he succumbed to his injuries.
It is alleged that Marsh was the driver of the Dodge Ram.
After carefully examining all the available evidence including the severity of the allegations, Prosecutor Lucido decided to charge Marsh as an adult.
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Marsh was arraigned before visiting Judge Denis LeDuc in the 37th District Court in Warren, MI. Marsh was arraigned on the following charges:
- Felony Murder, a felony punishable by up to life without parole
- Second Degree Murder, a felony punishable by any term of years up to life
- Fleeing & Eluding First Degree Causing Death, a 15-year felony
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Death, a 15-year felony
- Receiving and Concealing- Motor Vehicle, a 5-year felony
- Burglar’s Tools-Possession With Intent To Steal a Motor Vehicle, a 5-year felony
- Resisting and Obstructing, a 2-year felony
These are the maximum charges available under the law based upon the evidence presented to date.
Judge LeDuc denied Marsh bond. He is in custody at the Juvenile Justice Center in Mt. Clemens, MI.
A Probable Cause Conference for Marsh is scheduled to be held before Judge Suzanne Faunce at the 37th District Court on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, and a Preliminary Exam on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, both at 8:45 a.m.
“Charging a juvenile as an adult is a serious decision that is made only after careful consideration of the facts and the law. The allegations in this case underscore the potentially devastating consequences of fleeing and eluding law enforcement. Drivers of every age need to recognize that poor decisions can have consequences that last a lifetime, affecting victims, families, and communities,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
The four remaining occupants of the Dodge Ram were juveniles and residents of Detroit. Two were 15 years old, one was 14 years old, and one was 11 years old. They are charged with the following:
- Receiving and Concealing- Motor Vehicle, a 5-year felony
- Burglar’s Tools-Possession With Intent To Steal a Motor Vehicle, a 5-year felony
- Resisting and Obstructing, a 2-year felony
The charges filed reflect the most serious offenses supported by the evidence currently available. Additionally, after reviewing the facts and circumstances of the case, it was determined that juvenile charges are appropriate for these respondents. The juveniles are in custody at the Juvenile Justice Center, except for the 11-year-old.
