Press Release

Mount Clemens, MI - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Casada Sorrell, also known as rapper Sada Baby, waived his Preliminary Exam and was bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court on a possession of controlled substance charge.

In January 2025, Sterling Heights Police conducted a traffic stop of 33-year-old Sorrell. As Sorrell was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant, officers allegedly saw a bag of pills in Sorrell’s driver side door pocket. It is alleged the pills were Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride, a Schedule 2 controlled substance for which Sorrell did not have a valid prescription.

On Thursday, December 11, 2025, a Probable Cause Conference was held before Judge Eric D. Shepherd in the 41A District Court in Sterling Heights, MI.  At that hearing, Sorrell waived his right to a Preliminary Exam and was bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court. A date for arraignment is not set.

Sorrell is charged with Controlled Substances – Possession Less than 25 grams, a 4-year felony. He also has a Habitual Offender – Third Offense Notice which is an aggravating sentencing factor.

“Illicit narcotics pose a serious threat to the safety and well-being of our community.
