Prosecutor’s Office to determine if juveniles are tried as adults after alleged carjacking

Press Release

Mount Clemens, MI – Three juveniles are being detained after allegedly carjacking a woman outside of a restaurant in Roseville, MI on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025. The driver eventually crashed the car and the juveniles engaged in a foot chase to avoid the police. The juveniles are 14, 15 and 16 years old.

A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled to be held in the Macomb County Juvenile Court on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025. Referee Kristin Stone granted the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office request for a Special Adjournment to allow for a thorough review of the facts and circumstances to decide if the interests of justice and protection of the public require the juveniles to be tried as adults.  Referee Stone denied the juveniles bond and ordered them to remain in the Juvenile Justice Center pending the next Preliminary Hearing date set for Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.

"The allegations in this case are deeply serious and shocking. These young people are accused of actions so severe that they may be tried as adults, facing consequences that could irreversibly impact the rest of their lives," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the people of Macomb County.  We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All defendants accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
