Mount Clemens, MI – A 14-year-old juvenile is being detained stemming from the alleged non-fatal shooting of another individual at a residence in Clinton Township, MI on May 26, 2026.
A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled to be held in the Macomb County Juvenile Court on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Referee Eric O. Lindquist, Jr. granted the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office request for a Special Adjournment to allow for a thorough review of the facts and circumstances to decide if the interests of justice and protection of the public require the juvenile to be tried as an adult. Referee Lindquist denied the juvenile bond and ordered him to remain in the Juvenile Justice Center pending the next Preliminary Hearing date set for Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
“Decisions involving juveniles are never taken lightly, especially when evaluating whether adult charges are appropriate. Young people must understand that a single poor choice can shape the course of their future, and that actions carry lasting consequences,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the people of Macomb County. We are committed to achieving justice and following laws of the State of Michigan. All defendants accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
