Probable Cause Conference adjourned for woman who allegedly drove car through home, injuring young girl

Press Release

Mt. Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that yesterday’s Probable Cause Conference for 20-year-old Caris Adell Wade was adjourned to await her blood test results from the Michigan State Police. Wade’s Probable Cause Conference is adjourned until Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at 8:45 am in the 37th District Court in Centerline, MI. Wade allegedly drove her car through a Centerline home, injuring a young girl.

It is alleged that on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 2:55 am, Wade, of Detroit, was willfully, wantonly, and recklessly driving her vehicle. As a result of her driving, Wade crashed her vehicle directly into the bedroom of a Centerline residence. In the bedroom sleeping was a 9-year-old girl and her 22-month-old sister. The 9-year-old suffered serious bodily injuries. The 22-month-old was unharmed. After crashing into the home, Wade then fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended by the Warren Police.  Toxicology results to determine if Wade was under the influence remain pending.

Wade is facing the following charges:

Count 1               Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment Of A Body Function, a 5-year felony

Count 2               Failure To Stop At Scene Of Accident Resulting In Serious Impairment Or Death, a 5-year felony

Additional charges against Wade may be brought based on the pending toxicology results.

Wade is held at the Macomb County Jail on a $200,000 cash/surety bond.

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated, “It’s important that we wait for the blood test results. If the evidence shows the defendant was under the influence at the time of the crash, that could significantly elevate the severity of the charges. There was a tremendous amount of damage, and it’s only by sheer luck that the two children inside the home were not killed. We need to ensure the charges fully reflect the danger and harm caused.”
