Pair arraigned on multiple felony charges after alleged drive-by shooting

Press Release

Mount Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 62-year-old Edward Jennings, of Detroit, and 50-year-old Elaine McCallum, of Clinton Township, were arraigned on charges stemming from an alleged drive-by shooting. The incident is alleged to have involved individuals who were previously known to one another, and authorities do not believe this was a random act of violence.

It is alleged that on Saturday, April 25, 2026, McCallum was driving a Chevrolet Blazer with Jennings as her passenger in Harrison Township. McCallum pulled up next to a Chevrolet Silverado occupied by an individual with whom there was a prior relationship, and a verbal altercation occurred through the open windows. It is further alleged that McCallum then pulled closer to the Silverado, at which time Jennings discharged a handgun into the vehicle. The driver of the Silverado was not injured.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Jennings and McCallum were arraigned before Magistrate Ryan Zemke in the 41B District Court in Clinton Township, MI.

Jennings is charged with the following:

  • Assault with Intent to Murder, a felony punishable by life or any term of years

McCallum is charged with the following:

These are the maximum charges available under the law based on the evidence presented to date.

Magistrate Zemke set bond for Jennings and McCallum at $250,000 cash or surety.

Jennings and McCallum are scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference before Judge Jacob Femminineo, Jr. at the 41-B District Court on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.

“It is fortunate that no one was injured in this alleged shooting. Firearms have no place in resolving disputes. My office treats these incidents with the utmost seriousness and will pursue charges against those alleged to be responsible,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Christopher Petrides represented the People at the arraignment.
